Dog lovers rejoice — you’ll soon have a place in the Highlands where you can have a cocktail while hanging out with your canine companion.
PG&J’s Dog Bar, an indoor/outdoor off-leash dog park and bar combination, is set to open later this year at 800 Baxter Ave., just across from Cave Hill Cemetery. It’s owner, Gina Nobles, is a University of Louisville graduate and a dog owner herself.
Nobles told me she became a pet parent while doing postdoctoral research in her field of visual neuroscience in Houston, Texas, in 2010. She was in a long distance relationship at the time with her now husband, Ben, and was lonely, which led her to adopt her first dog, Paco.
